Application Programming Interface (API) Program
For members, we are offering access to our Application Programming Interface (API), a fully featured set of object-oriented class libraries, which allows members to code directly onto AEMI. Members may use the full API to create a fully custom front-end, which could interface with proprietary risk management, quotation and position-keeping systems. There is an option for implementing a "partial API," i.e., a hybrid model, in which the API is used to interface with another system to stream in quotes, but the standard AEMI front end is used for regular trading activities: opens, closes, pair-offs, etc. Please read the AEMI Connectivity FAQ for additional information.
How to Get Access
The API is made available to member firms only or to software vendors sponsored by member firms. A signed non-disclosure agreement (NDA) is required before the information is distributed. E-mail aemi-preproduction-support@amex.com to request the documentation.
Physical Connections
The Amex will be supporting multiple modes of connectivity. Please contact your Amex representative or aemi-preproduction-support@amex.com for more information.
Testing and Certification
An AEMI test environment for API testing is available.
Scheduled Go-Live Dates
AEMI and therefore the API are scheduled to commence a carefully controlled phased implementation in Q4 2006 - subject to Rule approval. Market participants trading symbols on both AEMI and on legacy systems should take note that during the deployment period, the Exchange will be running parallel systems.
