Amex Notice, 'CMS and Order Processing Enhancements', dated May 18, 2006 describes order routing and processing enhancements to be delivered with the new Auction and Electronic Market Integration (AEMI) trading platform.

New order features and functions with AEMI necessitate significant changes to post-trade reports and files. Formats of many legacy files are outmoded and limit our ability to provide information. This is an opportunity to improve file structures and information provided to member firms.

Post trade files are enhanced in conjunction with the AEMI migration timeline subsequent to SEC approval. The latest revised launch date is November 06, 2006.

Equities Post Trade Files and Reports with AEMI
The Amex will make no change to trade comparison data as there are no major functional changes to executions. The current files from IntraDay Comparison will continue to be distributed as is.

Files and reports containing order information will be restructured for delivery as the equities begin migrating to the AEMI platform. We expect to provide the following reports to replace the Merged Order Log (MOL) and MOL related files.

  1. Comprehensive order and trade activity file (by Firm, Booth, Specialist, Broker), replacing legacy MOL and related reports
    • Orders and executions
    • Commission bill (currently rollups)
    • Open orders, adds and outs
    • Specialist principal activity
    • Specialist odd lot activity
    • Equity adjustments/corporate actions
    • Amex will provide filters for extracting open orders, adds, outs, etc.
  2. Trade corrections
  3. AEMI events logs
  4. Equity positions
  5. BARS Order Ticket Image and Market Look
The new files and reports will be delivered from a new location rather than SIAC via the agreed upon transmission protocol.

Files and Reporting During the AEMI Pilot
During AEMI pilot, member firms will receive two sets of files. Newly structured files will contain information for the pilot Equity symbols that have migrated onto the new AEMI platform. Files will be sourced directly from the Amex and delivered via agreed upon transmission protocols. File structure changes are a direct effect of major function changes in the new AEMI platform. New AMOL will contain additional data. There is no 1-to-1 mapping from legacy format to new as a result of the functional changes.

Equity products that remain on existing Amex legacy system will continue to be reported via legacy MOL and AOF related files until these migrate to AEMI. Options are not in scope at this time and will continue in legacy format.

Member Support Function
The Amex expects to support our member firms during their transition from legacy formats to the newly restructured file formats. We will provide file layouts, documentation, test files and schedules, help desk support and related information such as frequently asked questions (FAQs) to ensure a successful transition.

Documentation Available
The comprehensive activity file as described above replaces the majority of today's legacy reporting. The specification, layout and documentation for the comprehensive activity file in the secure website. Any additional documentation will be posted in this site.
