Member organizations currently using the AMEX filing format to file AMEX Monthly and Derivative short interest information are requested to change to the NASD SHORTS filing format as soon as possible. Commencing with the March 15, 2005, settlement date, all American Stock Exchange member organizations will be required to use the NASD SHORTS filing format, which utilizes 9 places for short interest volume instead of the AMEX filing format, which utilizes 7. The NASD SHORTS file format specifications are available in https://Regfiling.nasd.com in the Shorts Help file upload section.
Members wishing to test using the NASD file format can do so now by using their production ID and password to log into the AMEX TEST website https://RegFilingTest.nasd.com. Users wishing to FTP to the Customer Test Environment should use the same account and password as in production, but the IP Address (126.96.36.199) is different. Upon the completion of testing, you can make this change to your production systems at any time.
Technical questions or problems should be directed to the NASD Help Desk at 800-321-NASD. Questions regarding this circular may be directed to Eleanor Henry at 212-306-1529.
