SEC Extends Emergency Order Imposing Restrictions on Uncovered Short Sales in Certain Securities through August 12, 2008

On July 29, 2008, the Securities and Exchange Commission extended the Emergency Order (the "Order") pursuant to Section 12(k)(2) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 relating to short selling securities of certain specified substantial financial firms through August 12, 2008. The Order, which was issued on July 15, 2008 and amended on July 18, 2008, was set to terminate on July 29, 2008. The Order has now been extended by the SEC through August 12, 2008. The extended Order will be in effect until 11:59 p.m. EDT on Aug. 12, 2008. The SEC has stated that the Order will not be extended beyond this date. The impacted securities are listed on the Attachment to this Notice ("Impacted Securities").
