The purpose of this Notice is to remind members and member organizations ("members") that the deadline for submission of Written Supervisory Procedures ("WSPs") for members that trade in NYSE Alternext-listed equities, have a Floor-based presence (specialists and Floor brokers), and are planning on relocating such equities operations to NYSE Alternext Trading Systems by the NYSE Alternext equities trading relocation date ("Transferring Floor-Based Equities Members") 1 is October 15, 2008.
As a result of the date change for NYSE Alternext equities relocation, NYSE Regulation extended the deadline for Transferring Floor-Based Equities Members to submit WSPs for pre-clearance by appropriate regulation staff prior to relocation to NYSE Alternext Trading Systems. These WSPs should be submitted for review no later than October 15, 2008, to Michelle Battaglia, Surveillance Director, FINRA, 20 Broad St., 21st Floor, New York, New York 10005, (646) 315-8409, michelle.battaglia@finra.org. In addition, as a reminder, members should familiarize themselves prior to the equities relocation date with anticipated rule changes that will need to be incorporated into their WSPs when such changes are implemented. The anticipated rule changes include, but are not limited to, amendments to NYSE Rule 98 and related rules that allow member organizations greater flexibility in structuring their specialist operations. 2 Members should also familiarize themselves with proposed rule changes that will implement the NYSE new market model. 3
