AMERICAN STOCK EXCHANGE LISTS MERRILL LYNCH’S CAPPED LEVERAGED INDEX RETURN NOTES LINKED TO THE MSCI EMERGING MARKETS INDEX

New York, August 8, 2008 - The American Stock Exchange® (Amex®) opened trading on Merrill Lynch’s Capped Leveraged Index Return Notes Linked to the MSCI Emerging Markets Index.

Priced at $10.00 per unit with an initial offer size of 1,660,000 units, this equity trades under the ticker symbol MKI and has a maturity date of January 29, 2010.

The notes are issued by Merrill Lynch. The Amex specialist unit is Bluefin Specialists, LLC.
