AMERICAN STOCK EXCHANGE LISTS COMMON STOCK OF SULPHCO INCORPORATED

New York, October 7, 2005 -  The American Stock Exchange (Amex) today began trading the stock of SulphCo Incorporated, under the ticker symbol SUF.

The company's technology upgrades sour heavy crude oils into sweeter, lighter crudes, which produces more gallons of usable oil per barrel.

"We are pleased that SulphCo Incorporated has chosen to list on the American Stock Exchange," Amex Equities Group Senior Vice President John McGonegal said. "As a destination of choice for a growing collection of energy companies, the Amex looks forward to providing SulphCo with the tools they need to reach a broader investor class."

"We are very pleased to be approved for listing on the American Stock Exchange, and believe this listing should significantly increase the visibility of SulphCo, attract analyst coverage on Wall Street, as well as provide trading liquidity for institutional investors," said Dr. Rudolph W. Gunnerman, chairman and chief executive officer of SulphCo Inc.
