The Metals segment offers engineered specialty grades and alloys of metals, as well as specialized processing services. This segment's core products include nickel alloys, aluminum, stainless steels, and carbon in various forms, such as plate, sheet, extrusions round bar, hexagon, square and flat bars, and tubing and coil. It also performs various specialized fabrications for its customers through a network of pre-qualified subcontractors, as well as thermally processes, turns, polishes, and straightens alloy and carbon bar. The Plastics segment stocks and distributes plastics in various forms, including plate, rod, tube, clear sheet, tape, gaskets, and fittings, as well as provides various processing activities, such as cut to length, cut to shape, bending, and forming according to customer specifications. This segment offers its services to companies in the retail (point-of-purchase), marine, office furniture and fixtures, transportation, and general manufacturing industries. The company also has operations in France and the United Kingdom. A.M. Castle & Co. was founded in 1890 and is headquartered in Franklin Park, Illinois.
