Cornerstone Strategic Value Fund, Inc. operates as a diversified, closed-end, management investment company, which has the objective to seek long-term capital appreciation primarily through investment in equity securities of companies listed in the U.S. To generate additional income, CLM may lend up to 10% of its total assets. It receives payments from borrowers equivalent to the dividends and interest that would have been earned on securities lent while simultaneously seeking to earn interest on the investment of cash collateral. Loans are subject to termination by the fund or the borrower at any time, and are, therefore, not considered to be illiquid investments. Loans of securities are required at all times to be secured by collateral equal to at least 100% of the market value of securities on loan. Any cash collateral received is reinvested into repurchase agreements, which in turn are collateralized by various U.S. Government and Agency securities. |
