Eaton Vance New Jersey Municipal Income Trust is a closed-end, non-diversified management investment concern whose investment objective is to provide current income exempt from regular federal income tax and New Jersey state personal income taxes. The trust intends to achieve its objective by investing mainly in investment-grade New Jersey municipal securities. The trust may also invest a portion of its assets in higher risk, higher yielding municipal securities of lesser quality. During normal market conditions, substantially all of the trust's total assets (at least 80%) will be invested in municipal obligations. At least 65% of the trust's total assets will normally be invested in municipal obligations issued by New Jersey or its political subdivisions, agencies, authorities and instrumentalities and rated at least investment grade at the time of investment, or, if unrated, determined by the trust's investment adviser to be of at least investment-grade quality. |
