Eaton Vance Ohio Municipal Income Trust is a closed-end, non-diversified management investment company whose investment objective is to provide current income exempt from regular federal income tax and Ohio state personal income taxes. The trust intends to achieve its objective by investing primarily in investment-grade municipal obligations issued by Ohio municipalities that have been undervalued in the marketplace. During normal market conditions, substantially all of the trust's total assets (at least 80%) will be invested in debt obligations, the interest on which is exempt from regular federal income tax and Ohio state personal income taxes (municipal obligations). At least 65% of the trust's total assets will normally be invested in municipal obligations issued by the state of Ohio or its political subdivisions, agencies, authorities and instrumentalities and rated at least investment grade at the time of investment, or, if unrated, determined to be of at least investment grade quality. The trust may invest up to 35% of its total assets in municipal obligations rated below investment grade (but not, with respect to more than 30% of total assets, lower than B by all rating agencies rating the obligation) and unrated municipal obligations considered to be of comparable quality by Eaton Vance. No such securities will be in default at the time of purchase. |
