Eaton Vance Limited Duration Income Fund is a diversified, closed-end management investment company whose investment objective is to provide a high level of current income. The fund may, as a secondary objective, also seek capital appreciation to the extent consistent with its primary goal of high current income. Under normal market conditions, the fund's investment advisor expects the fund to maintain a duration of between two and four years (including the effect of anticipated leverage). Initially, the fund is expected to have a duration of approximately three years (including the effect of anticipated leverage). Under normal market conditions, the fund expects to maintain a weighted average portfolio credit quality of investment grade (which is at least BBB- as determined by Standard & Poor's Ratings Group or Fitch Ratings, Baa3 as determined by Moody's Investors Service, Inc. or, if unrated, determined to be of comparable quality by the advisor). The fund intends to pursue its objectives by investing its assets primarily in three distinct investment categories: mortgage-backed securities that are issued, backed or otherwise guaranteed by the U.S. Government or its agencies or instrumentalities or that are issued by private issuers; senior, secured floating rate loans made to corporate and other business entities; and corporate bonds that are of below investment grade quality. There is no limitation on the percentage of the fund's assets that may be allocated to each of these investment categories; provided that, under normal market conditions, the fund will invest at least 25% of its total assets in each category. |
