Clough Global Opportunities Fund operates as a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company. Its investment objective is to provide a high level of total return. The fund pursues this objective by applying a fundamental research-driven investment process when investing in equity and equity-related securities, as well as fixed income securities, including both corporate and sovereign debt, in both U.S. and non-U.S. markets. The fund intends to invest primarily in a managed mix of U.S. and non-U.S. equity and debt securities. In certain situations, the fund will augment its investment positions by purchasing call options, both on specific equity securities, as well as securities representing exposure to equity sectors or indices and fixed income indices. Investments in non-U.S. markets will be made primarily through liquid securities, including depositary receipts (which evidence ownership in underlying foreign securities) and exchange traded funds. Investments in debt may include both investment grade and non-investment grade issues. The fund will not invest more than 20% of its total assets in securities rated, at the time of acquisition, below investment grade. The fund intends to qualify as a regulated investment company under the Internal Revenue Code. |
