Clough Global Equity Fund is a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company whose investment objective is to provide a high level of total return. The fund seeks to pursue this objective by applying a fundamental research-driven investment process and will, under normal circumstances, invest at least 80% of its net assets, including any borrowings for investment purposes, in equity securities in both U.S. and non-U.S. markets. The fund intends to invest primarily in a managed mix of global equity securities. The fund is flexibly managed and sometimes will be more heavily invested in equity securities in U.S. markets or in equity securities in other markets around the world. Investments in non-U.S. markets will be made primarily through liquid securities, including depositary receipts (which evidence ownership in underlying foreign securities) and exchange traded funds. The fund may invest up to 20% of its total assets in fixed income securities, including both corporate and sovereign debt in both U.S. and non-U.S. markets. Investments in corporate debt, if any, may include both investment grade and non-investment grade issues. The fund will not invest more than 10% of its total assets in securities rated, at the time of acquisition, below investment grade. Investments in sovereign debt may also include bonds issued by countries considered to be emerging markets. The fund will not invest more than 20% of its total assets, at the time of acquisition, in securities of governments and companies in emerging markets. The fund intends to qualify as a regulated investment company under the Internal Revenue Code. |
