Eaton Vance Insured Michigan Municipal Bond Fund is a non-diversified, closed-end management investment fund. Its investment objective is to provide current income exempt from federal income tax, including alternative minimum tax, and in the form of an investment exempt from Michigan state and city income and single business taxes. The fund will seek to achieve its investment objective by investing primarily in high grade Michigan municipal obligations that are insured as to the timely payment of principal and interest and are not subject to alternative minimum tax. During normal market conditions, at least 80% of the fund's net assets will be invested in municipal obligations, the interest on which is exempt from federal income tax, including alternative minimum tax, and in the form of an investment exempt from Michigan state and city income and single business taxes, and that are insured as to principal and interest payments. The fund primarily invests in high grade municipal obligations. At least 80% of the fund's total assets will normally be invested in municipal obligations rated in the highest category at the time of investment. Up to 20% of the fund's total assets may be invested in obligations rated below Aaa or AAA (but not lower than BBB or Baa) and comparable unrated obligations. Accordingly, the fund does not intend to invest any of its assets in obligations rated below investment grade or in comparable unrated obligations. Under normal market conditions, the fund expects to be fully invested (at least 95% of its net assets) in accordance with its investment objective. |
