BlackRock New York Investment Quality Municipal Trust Inc. operates as a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company whose investment objective is to provide high current income exempt from regular Federal and New York state income taxes. The trust seeks to achieve its objective by investing in investment grade (rated AAA to BBB by a major rating agency or of equivalent quality) municipal debt securities issued by local municipalities throughout New York. Under normal conditions, the trust intends to invest as least 80% of its assets in securities rated investment grade or better. The trust intends to continue to qualify as a regulated investment company under the Internal Revenue Code. |
