Versar Nominates Former Congressman Hansen as New Board Member

SPRINGFIELD, Va., Nov 3, 2003 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Versar, Inc. (Amex: VSR) announced today that former Congressman James V. Hansen of Utah was nominated to join Versar's Board of Directors. James Hansen is currently President of Jim Hansen and Associates. He was first elected to the United States Congress from Utah's First Congressional District in 1980 and served 22 years. In Congress, he served as Chairman of the House Resources Committee and as a senior member of the Armed Services Committee. As Chairman of the Resources Committee, Mr. Hansen promoted effective use of public lands and nationwide wilderness legislation.  Mr. Hansen served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, and before becoming a Congressman, was an independent insurance agent and president of a Utah land development company. Prior to serving in Congress, Mr. Hansen served in the Utah House of Representatives, where he was Speaker of the House in his last term.  Jim Hansen is a graduate of the University of Utah. He married the former Ann Burgoyne of Salt Lake City. They have five children and nine grandchildren.
