Holland and Jeffreys Elected to Peoples Holding Company Board of..

 TUPELO, Miss., Feb 9, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The Peoples Holding Company (AMEX:PHC) Chairman of the Board, Robert C. Leake, and President & CEO, E. Robinson McGraw, have announced that Neal A. Holland, Jr. and Harold B. Jeffreys have been elected to the company's board of directors. Holland is President & Chief Executive Officer of Decatur, Alabama-based Holland Company, Incorporated, a diversified general contracting, sand, gravel, and trucking company. He is also owner and president of Cedar Ridge Golf Course. Jeffreys is owner of Cedar Lake Farms and a partner in Sunset Land Development, LLC.

 Holland graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. He was a founding director of Heritage Financial Holding Corporation and has served on the board of directors since 1994. Holland is the chairman of the Municipal Utilities Board of the city of Decatur. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Decatur Heritage Christian Academy and vice president of the Dixie Youth Baseball American League.
 Holland is married to the former Sherry Head and they have seven children, Ty, Alexandria, Jackson, Jordan, Sawyer, Sterling, and Lily Catherine. The Hollands are members of Autumnwood Baptist Church in Decatur, where he serves as Trustee.
 Harold Jeffreys graduated from the University of North Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Math and received his masters from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He continued his education with work on a Ph.D. at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Jeffreys is the founder of Applied Research, Incorporated and is a retired physicist. He was a founding director of Heritage Financial Holding Corporation and has served on the board of directors since 1994. Jeffreys also served as interim President & CEO of Heritage Bank from 2002 to 2003.
 Jeffreys has served as past director for the Calhoun Community College Foundation, the Decatur Heritage Christian Academy and the Southeastern Bible College. He also served as the president and chairman of the board for Applied Research, Incorporated from 1980 to 1994 at which time it was sold to Science Application International, Inc.
 Jeffreys is married to the former Judy Burton and they have two children, Mary Kathryn and Ben Anderson Matthew. The Jeffreys are members of Central Baptist Church where he serves as deacon.
